Preparations for Comenius week in Września (Poland)
Over a month ago a group of students willing to take part in the 2nd
year of the Comenius project met for the first time. Before they learned if
they would take part in this project, they had to answer a few questions in
English about the exchange.
After choosing the group, which this year consists of 8 people: 6 girls and 2 boys, students wrote their profiles. Then they were put into pairs with Turkish students and made contact with them.

Then, all together made a special poster respecting this year's exchange topic, which will be displayed in the Comenius corner. Students were very active and had a lot of great ideas.

First Comenius meetings in Thessaloniki, Greece
Hello, Kalimera from Greece!
In October 2014 our Comenius team got ready. 15 students participate in the 2nd year of the project about our identity and 4 teachers.
Our students sent their profiles to our partner school in Budapest and after the matching they started communicating with their new friends. They interviewed a number of people of two different generations and they prepared their summaries. They watched the movie "My big fat greek wedding" and took notes about features of our identity. That was fun!
10 days are left and on the 22nd of November we will be flying to Hungary. We can't wait to meet our colleagues and students. The school and the town looks so perfect in the photographs.
Finally, we took a picture during our last field trip in front of the White Tower, the most famous landmark of Thessaloniki, to share it with you.
Keep up the good work!

Preparing
for the trilateral meeting in March 2014 2nd Lyceum of Pylaia Greece
In
November, we started preparing ourselves for the trilateral meeting that was
going to be held in Germany in March, where the groups would work together and
create a calendar including each partner’s main national celebrations.
Each
student was given a month and he/she had to find information and photographs
about it and prepare a project/document. Four of our students had the role of
the journalist and they were members of the press group, together with the
German students. They recorded everything that was going on and took
photographs. Then they exchanged their findings with their German partners and
got familiar with each other’s culture.
Our team
held meetings where they discussed and presented their work. They were very
happy and excited as they got to make friendships with their partners and
couldn’t wait to meet each other again in Garbsen.
We had also
prepared a role playing and a song about one of our Greek customs, “Chelidonismata”. Our students
learned by heart their part and rehearsed many times to improve their play.
We also got
the Spanish team’s song “Welcome home, to Europe”, watched the video and
learned the lyrics. The Spanish teachers were very glad to give us any help we
needed.
Everything
had been taken care of and our luggage filled with anticipation and excitement!
Our destination: Garbsen Germany.

Comenius Meeting at IGS Garbsen
Today, the IGS students met for the third time. The meeting started with a group picture which now includes all 15 participants and the two teachers.
Next, we watched scenes from the film "L'auberge Espagnole" to introduce the topic of national identity to the students. This was followed by classroom discussions about national identity.
The students were then given the questionnaires. To understand what the questions mean and to be able to interview other people, they filled them out themselves.
Finally, the profiles of their Basque partners were handed out, which caused great excitement even though most of the students had already been contacted from Spain via social media.
It was a demanding work session for the Comenius group as all the other students have already left for their autumn holidays.Thursday, 9 October 2014

Comenius Teachers' Meeting in Budapest -SEP-OCT 2014
Our meeting started on Monday, September 29. We were greeted by Viktor, the coordinator of the hosting school, in the conference room of our hotel.
On Tuesday, we met at the school, which is located in a beautiful building erected in 1914.
We managed to plan the second project year in great detail. The reward was a fantastic boat tour on the Danube around sunset followed by a tasty dinner at a very typical Hungarian restaurant.
The field trip took place on Wednesday, Oct 1st. We were guided by Gabor, who is a teacher at the host school; he used to be a professional guide. Among the many magnificent sights were Hero Square, Castle Hill and the President's palace.
As we are facing major changes in our project with the introduction of ERASMUS+, we needed
to come up with new ideas for the application for the new project starting from 2015, which were discussed on Thursday, Oct 2nd.
After a very exhausting day we all went to the city centre for the farewell dinner.
On Friday we visited the Parliament, shared documents and pictures and most of us went back home.
